How To Play

Anyone can start!

Pick up a card. Read the question or prompt out loud.

You then answer the question or finish the sentence.

Your responses can be meaningful, playful or anywhere in between.

The next player take their turn to pick up the next card in the deck and answer.

Be curious. Dive deeper. You have the freedom to ask any player to share more about their answer.

There are no right or wrong answers.

A word on terms

WeShare cards are designed to be inclusive. However, it’s been a challenge to find some words that have the same meaning for all people and also reflect all peoples experiences.

Depending on your deck, you might see a word that doesn’t reasonate with you. You’re welcome to change any term that suits your life story. For example, instead of ‘family’, ‘kinship’ or ‘community’ may be more appropriate.

‘Parent’ and ‘care giver’ are used interchangeably. If you have responsibilities for another human being (or fur baby), use the term that you are most comfortable with.

Game Variations

Cherry Pick

Spread the cards out on a table, question side up. Nominate a player to start. The first player selects a card to answer. Once that player answers, the next player cherry picks the question card they would like to answer. Keep it going.

Chosen For You

Spread the cards out on a table, question side up. Nominate a player to start. The first player selects a card for the player on their left to answer. Once that player answers, they pick up a card for the next player. Keep it going.

Time On

Use a timer. You could make this as long or as short as you like. Set the timer at the start of each players turn. Each player answers the question or prompt for the duration of the allocated time. Try out different times and see where the experience takes you.
